I haven't forgotten about you.
I mean you the reader...
I brought four poems for an asymmetrical number of heartbreaks.
Heart’s forecast
Heart’s forecast:
clouded, dark—
chance of tears.
Killing time
Do I blame time dilation
for love dying for you
while it still lived inside me?
Dos and don’ts
That’s enough.
You have an answer
for every don’t—
not one
for a single did.

Mine alone
Me?
Your dream?
No.
An obstacle
to your dreams.
Us?
That dream?
Yes.
That one
was mine.

There you have it.
Four poems on asymmetrical love—
four early endings
with four late realizations.
Did any of these feel familiar to you?
Wait—you didn’t know there was poetry in this publication? Oh boy do I have good news for you:
Thank you for reading, for your time, and for being you. 😊
☕ Support My Work
Thank you for reading. If you enjoyed this poem and want to continue supporting my work, why not buy me a coffee?
If coffee is not for you (I get it) then liking, commenting or restacking will also be greatly appreciated.
😊

Love these, Carlos. Having a little trouble with dos and don'ts, however. Not sure I understand.
I like your short poem idea.
