I love how something that sounds so innocent can have all that layered meaning underneath. Maybe that’s why I still love it ….it’s not just catchy, it’s alive. Always loved the song 😁
Amazingly well done guys love both the narriaion and the context behind this song.
Most love songs are pretty dirty if you really listen and it's wild how much radio play they get.
The one song that always suprises me is so popular on the radio is semi charmed life. Its about the struggles and unpredictable nature of early adulthood. It mentions doing crystal meth. Sex. All the things. And its played on the radio all the time. Even in a super Christian community that is well off you hear people sing along
"Dooin' crystal meth'll lift you up until you break
It won't stop, I won't come down, I keep stock
A tick-tock rhythm, a bump for the drop
And then I bumped up, I took the hit that I was given
Then I bumped again, then I bumped again" is literally in the song..
As well as "You're the priestess, I must confess
Those little red panties, they pass the test
Slides up around the belly, face down on the mattress"
But most people think it's an upbeat song about loving their semi charmed life. Which is... half true
Take a listen. Semi charmed life by third eye blind. Will definitely get stuck in your head, definitely overplayed. Definitely about being young and rebellious
I’ve always been one to pay attention to lyrics. There are so many songs that just go right over people’s heads. Semi-charmed life is one of those songs that is pretty wild, but it sounds so upbeat and happy no one seems to notice.
This was a fantastic read LOL hot n spicey with a serious side of humor!!! I cant listen to the voice over at the moment LOL 😂😂😂 but im sure its fantastic too!! LOL I have little ears lurking around at the moment 😆 I actually had no idea what that song meant this is fantastic actually!!! 🔥🔥🔥
That was fantastic, Carlos! I love dialogues, especially when they are done so perfectly. It was also so funny—because people were indeed singing and playing this everywhere, churches included😂😂
A real fun read.. I once looked for the translation as a kid wanting to impress pears and thought the wording was weird but still a good song... Now, it is clear

I never imagined you dancing Despacito! 😂

People really don't pay attention to lyrics when they sound sing-alongey 😂
Thanks for reading and for the comment! I didn't know about that song!

What shocks me is it isn't even implied. Most inappropriate songs kind of just imply things. It just comes right out and says it..
That being said i dont listen a ton of modern music and I know it doesn't care
That’s right! In many cases it really is a matter of not paying close attention to the lyrics because you just like the rhythm.
This was fabulous....... Great read and listen. Love the ending ..... So we'll structured and built ...... Bravo
Thank you so much Bear!
It was fun to write and fun to put together with Kristina 😊

Hahaha, thank you Tara!
I'm glad I hit that spot between spicey and humorous! And now you know how the song builds to something more than dancing 😉
🌶🌶🌶

Thank you Gabriela! It was everywhere and it's funny how a lot of people didn't pay attention to how sexual the lyrics were 🤭😂
A) I definitely sing it the same way "despicito nanananana ito" 😅
B) look at the woman fucking gorgeous anyone would want to undress her "despicito" 😍
C) that music video makes it preeeettttyyy obvious they are not just dancing😏
D) English songs do the same thing you know WAP was on the radio and "Cake by the Ocean" was on Disney Channel 🤣
Of course you sing it "nanana" 😂🤣🤣
Yep.
Dancing has always have at least some sensual elements to it.
And I know there's English songs that do the same, I just think it's funny when it's a revelation how sexual it is 😂

Haha, thanks Phila! The song is very metaphorical 😅
This was a fun read especially since I think I know what inspired it. 🤣🤭
The song is catchy. 😅
