Is it the darkness of the night which calls the darkness of our thoughts?
Is it the silence?
Is it the loneliness?
Maybe it’s a little bit of everything and every one of them being too much.
Whatever it is, let me share these three poems exploring nightfall and other falls…
Enter Sandman
Wondering
Hopeless lonely night,
I lay wondering,
are you out there?
Same hopelessness,
same loneliness,
same night...
Wondering,
if I'm here…
Midnight Ruminations
Slipping away
Again, feeling the weight of bleakness—
and then, building strength out of weakness,
a heavy burden—a heart so light—
a dream dies, this stormy sleepless night.
Will you get the chance to find me,
before what's left of me dissolves?
Again, trying to spot a truth in pain—
and then, seeing my love fade and wane,
another loss—another layer—
another curse without a prayer.
Will you get the chance to hold me,
while there's something of me to hold?
3 AM Thoughts
Falling and love
You fell in love with a visitor,
as you turned into a guest yourself—
their every want and every need first,
your very heartbeats back on the shelf.
You fell in love with pain and drama,
of pleasure and pleasing, you were toy—
you lost count of nights in silent tears,
yet there were no days with tears of joy.
You fell in love with exquisite corpse
of love through kaleidoscopic glance—
a shattered mirror's revelation
of a single set of footprints' dance.
You fell in love with a sweet nightmare,
desperately believing it a dream—
upon it embraced grim lullabies,
bidding farewell... your last moonbeam.
A Rude Awakening
And Then There Was Silence
These are the thoughts that visit us in darkness—questions without answers, fears that grow in silence… truths we finally dare to face when there's nowhere left to hide.
Maybe this feels familiar to you.
Maybe your 3 AM thoughts sound different than mine.
What falls visit you when night falls?

Synchronicity - I am just working on a piece that has the draft title: Dusk to Dawn examining the spaces between individuals.
I enjoyed this collection of poems and I like your thematic approach to posting poetry. It creates a richer post.
The first poem has stuck with me in its voice, containing so much in well crafted brevity.
I am probably biased, but I loved the kaleidoscope metaphor 😌
Beauty in melancholy is my favorite genre, and you nailed ❤️
