This poem is about the moments before...
You know what? Maybe I should barely introduce it and instead, let the poem do the talking.
Barely flirting
I flirt.
A bold action from me
and bolder reaction from you:
you blush.
I joke.
What dirty tricks,
what filthy maneuvers,
what shameless suggestion from me
and what shameless encouragement from you:
you smile.
I speak,
with calculated speech,
with provocative intent,
my discourse reveals layers from me
as your attention peels layers from you:
you unfold.
I provoke,
such transgressive ideas,
such deviant perspectives,
a nonchalant audacity from me
leading to challenging intensity from you:
you contend.
I inhale.
A charged silence from me
and electric tension from you:
you exhale.
We kiss.
What dirty moves,
what filthy conduct,
what shameless realization for us,
engaging in lovemaking from that first flirt
and blushing.

I’ll always be fascinated by the power of words and language. There's something delightful about attraction working on multiple levels, from the physical that deepens into intellectual challenge to the playful banter that reveals deeper, more intimate truths.
Have you experienced that kind of escalating connection? Those conversations that start innocent and somehow become charged with possibility? I'd love to hear about those moments in the comments.
Speaking of charged connections, if you enjoyed this exploration of escalating attraction, you might also enjoy my recent collection which also celebrates the languages of love, just in a different way:
Thank you for allowing me to share these intimate moments through poetry.
Until next time.

My thoughts are: is this love? Or just plain sex? With love none of this would be considered filthy conduct because making love is the beauty of two becoming one in mind body and spirit along with pleasure. Sex is just sex, only for pleasure has nothing to do with the spirit I guess you could call it “filthy” conduct. Just a thought from reading this. It was a good write makes one think.
