I'm a simple person. If I know someone's hurting, I think hugs and kisses can fix it.
That and I don't have a million dollars...
Kisses are free!
I still wouldn't trade a million kisses for a million dollars.
Wait... what was I talking about?
Oh yeah... here's a poem about counting kisses. 😁
The Kiss that Counts
Will a kiss make you believe
or will I need two?
Let’s add one more on each cheek—
that’s three—
that’s still not enough.
Will a kiss make you forget
the pain that comes at night?
Let’s kiss that dear forehead—
that mind—
that still needs some love.
Will a kiss make you dream
of a brighter tomorrow?
Let’s kiss that resilient heart—
that warrior—
that lover—
that’s always been enough.
Will a kiss make you feel
you’re more than enough?
Let’s kiss away those tears—
those doubts —
those yesterdays —
those ghosts —
that have grown in the absence of love.
Will a kiss make you believe
or will I need two?
Let’s make it easy,
I’ll start kissing you today
and I’ll never stop
as long as there’s a tomorrow.

Okay... so that's another poem about kisses.
Maybe next time I’ll write a poem about what I had for lunch… but that will be another day.
Or maybe you have opinions about this… let’s hear it!
The poll is only half-serious. You can’t really stop me from writing more poems about kisses after all… 🤷♂️😅
Have any other ideas? Feel free to share them in the comments!
What’s that, you want to read poems about heartbreak? Geez… what a bleak thing to want… regardless, I have what you’re looking for:
Thank you for reading, for your time, and for being you. 😊

"Will a kiss make you forget
the pain that comes at night?"
A kiss has really an incredible power. Beautiful poem Carlos, thanks for sharing!
I usually can’t stand love poems. They’re always so syrupy, so mushy. But yours isn’t. It’s the questions. It’s not performing, it’s not a statement, it’s not asking me to just accept it. You’re kissing the wounds, not the features, the mind, the doubts, the ghosts, not eyes or lips.
And that ending doesn’t go big. It just goes plain: I’ll start kissing you today and I’ll never stop. No fireworks. That restraint is the whole reason it works.
